Pioneer Double Din Stereo Extra Features

A Pioneer double din has a few extra features than a single din. In this article, we won’t be talking about double din stereo systems and their difference with single din stereo system. We’ll be solely focusing on the extra features that you get (or might get) when you purchase a Pioneer double din stereo.

Introduction

There are many great Pioneer double din stereos in the market – but what sets them apart? First of all, they are different from a single din as they come with a bigger height and display (usually touchscreen). But when we talk about the Pioneer double dins, there are certain extra features that we get.

The extra features

The AVH-291BT is considered one of the best Pioneer double din stereo systems, but technically it doesn’t come loaded with fresher features.

All Pioneer double dins have the typical features like Bluetooth, iPod and iPhone connectivity, the MIXTRAX technology, color customizations, HD Radio support, SiriusXM, Siri Eyes Free support, Android music support, and Pandora.

But some extra features of Pioneer double din stereos are as follows:

·         iDatalink Maestro: a web-programmable integration solution that simplifies the installation of different accessories in your car.

·         Apple CarPlay: CarPlay is, as some suggest, the future of car technology. It beautifully syncs with your iPhone and is designed to be an interface that shows your priority apps while providing a negligible distraction while driving. Using Siri voice recognition, dashboard buttons, or touchscreen of your double din – you can interact with your iPhone without being distracted.

·         AppRadio One: a one-cable solution to using your smartphone (both iPhone and Android) apps through the din touchscreen. It simplifies a lot of things by removing the unnecessary cables.

·         Navigation-readiness: The Pioneer double dins have this most important extra feature – they’re navigation-ready. Using your car’s GPS or smartphone applications, you can seamlessly utilize map data and navigate with ease over voice commands.

These features are not available in single dins. So although some prefer the “traditional” look-and-feel of a single din and the distraction-free knob controls they offer – double din are also making up for any flaws.

One more feature of Pioneer double din stereos is that the existing features of a single din (like Pandora, color customization, or basic iPhone connectivity) are further enhanced thanks to a bigger digital display.

Wrapping up

A double din isn’t too strong on the USB front, as a single din usually comes with double USB support. But double dins have their own set of benefits.

In the end, it depends on you whether you want to invest in a double din or not.
